The History of
Itsukushima Shinto Shrine
About 1805, for the sake of fishery safety and fishing success, we invited Princess Mikoto from the Itsukushima Shinto Shrine in Hiroshima through the dividing of spirits. Since that time, fishing success continued, as an effect villages were built around the shrine and Kushiro developed as a city of fishery.
